The pump track is also a community commons area. It will give everyone a place to meet and build real relationships with their neighbors, and that builds a safer place for us all to live and recreate.
You may ask: We already have a BMX track at the county fairgrounds, why do we need another?
Answer: The pump track is similar in some ways to a BMX track, but it isn't the same thing. The Lebanon Crankers BMX track is a facility built for racing. It is closed to the public for general riding, and practicing on the track is for pre-registered racers. The pump track is open to everyone, and is a place where BMX racers would enjoy and improve their skills, but it also is a place where non-racer type riders can ride and build their general bicycling skills too. In fact, if you can ride without training wheels, you will be able to ride the pump track.
Why build a pump track in Cornwall Borough?
- Less maintenance, water and chemistry than a lawn. Xeriscape with a purpose.
- Great technique training. For bikes, skis, snowboard, moto or anything like that.
- Great for overall fitness.
- Great for mental strength. Focus, discipline, confidence. Your grades will improve
- Keeps you near home, near your beloved family. Family values!
- Hours and hours of fun in a safe, healthy environment.
- It can still look really nice. Flagstones in the infield, flowers on the berms...
